Best Girlfriend

March 20th, 2006 by fooman

Since my friend Calpurnia has declared on her blog
http://puppy_eyes.blogs.friendster.com/calpurnias_closet/2006/03/my_dream_city.html
that:
“This here is every girl’s best-girlfriend-who-happens-to-be-a-straight-male-&-nice-person”

I thought I’d leave something here for those dropping by.

In spite of the ringing endorsement, its unlikely you’ll find shopping and fashion tips here. Shopping, just maybe, since I have brought just about anything you can buy over the internet.

[Begin sidetrack]
Latest purchase, a Space 1999 Eagle Transport model.

Still one of the coolest sci-fi spaceship designs.
I’m such a geek. hehe. If you don’t know what that is, never-mind, you were born too late. In this show, the year 1999 was in the FUTURE. If you were actually born after 1999, don’t worry about it. Just wait till they remake the TV show into a movie and call it Space 2999 or something.
[End sidetrack]

But fashion? Those that know me have seen how I dress. I wouldn’t take fashion advice from myself ya’ know.

Story of my life. Every woman’s best girlfriend. No wonder cannot get married. And not too healthy either if your gf is not like, super secure.

Oh yeah, the womens’ toilet in Felix at the Pen, have nothing on the men’s toilet. For once. After all, Philippe Starck is a guy. Personally, design-wise I’m more of a Jonathan Ive fan.

Stuff

Well, its been a while since the last post, which brings us to reason No.2 why I don’t blog. No time. Or issit nothing I need to vent.

Just got back from the ChargeUp Media conference. Awesome time, awesome people and non stop action in workshops and producing a video in 2 days. It was interesting to see a wide range of people in terms of churches, backgrounds, experience and even ages.

No, I still haven’t recovered from the lack of sleep over the 4 days.

Which brings me to my latest peeve.
The fact that my body needs alot of sleep to function at a decent pace these days. I’m working now as most of you know, so I can’t sleep in till lunch time to make up for late nights doing video productions. I also can’t stay up all night doing video productions since I need to be at work at 815. I’ve been telling myself I’ll catch up on sleep on weekends. So far, it hasn’t happened.

I am getting stressed out about the easter production. Its a long list of things I’ve been griping about. Decided that it wouldn’t be productive or edifying to rant about it here. Just bring it all to God. Sigh…

I’m going to be in KL this weekend. Best friend from college getting married. I’m best man and MC, so can’t escape. That’s twice in 3 months. Maybe I can just hire myself out as professional best man. Got my date arranged, a mutual friend who asked if I needed a date or a ride to the hotel.

Now just need to get my speech done. Can’t ’sabo’ him too much since the bride’s parents’ church members will be there. Probably not a good thing to let them think the SIB people are so crazy. Probably finish off with the 1 Corinthians 13, Love is patient… thing.

M$ has been hyping their origami device, which is basically a smaller hand held tablet.

Origami_prototype

Wow! Innovation from Redmond.

Then again, there’s this ad from 1993:

Another Origami Prototype

Then there’s this from the 90’s too:

I rest my case.

Bubba Keg

I recently bought this.

Bubba_keg

www.bubbakeg.com

Its a 52oz insulated mug. That’s 1.5 litres for you metric people. The phone is there for scale.

I thought the 20 oz and 32oz were too small. The 128oz and 384oz were not made for you to drink from.

This is just perfect. I find most insulated mugs don’t hold enough once I fill it with ice.
Half liter of ice and 1 litre of whatever I’m drinking. Notice that most fruit juices come in 1 litre boxes?

I’m happy. :-)

Weekend

February 11th, 2006 by fooman

Ah!…. 2 windoz free days.

Yes, PC blue screened on Friday as well.

Haven’t seen a movie in a while.

Day 4

February 8th, 2006 by fooman

Looking at more listed companies.

Got my work visa. I know its weird getting a work permit in your own country. Even more weird is the fact that I put in that very same computer system 6 years ago.

Yes, PC blue-screened today.

Made a mistake in yesterday’s blog. Parking here isn’t RM7 a month.

Its RM7 for SIX MONTHS!!!

I shouldn’t be complaining, but man!

Day 3

February 8th, 2006 by fooman

Well, I actually have work today. Need to do research on some companies to make recommendations.

Oh yeah, PC crashed again.

Parking at the office is only RM7.00 a month. Yes, thats not a typo. Its only seven ringgit a month, or about the price of a value meal. I’m happy. :D
Had a good meeting with the video crew tonight. We’ve planned the next sky news and came up with an idea for Easter that scares me. I’ll decide on Saturday whether to green light it or not.

Day 2

February 6th, 2006 by fooman

PC crashed today. Windoz piece of cr*p.

Back to the grind

February 6th, 2006 by fooman

Well, I started work yesterday. Back to the 9 to 5.  Or the 8:15 to 9:15 to be exact.

The first day was pretty quiet with administrative stuff to do. Lots of forms to fill, etc. Quite a few people are still on CNY leave, so the national low productivity season isn’t quite over just yet.

I’ve got some portfolio stuff to look at today and help the training dept to buy a camera. :D

I can see the islands from my window. Sigh…
